Olga Cielemecka

Olga holds a PhD in philosophy from Warsaw University in Poland. She was a research assistant at the Wirth Institute at University of Alberta in Canada and a visiting researcher at Institute for Cultural Inquiry at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She brings together research within the domains of contemporary philosophy, feminist theory, and posthumanism in an effort to re-think the concepts of the subject, community, and collaboration in the times of advanced capitalism and environmental change. Her articles have been published in Women: A Cultural Review and Somatechnics. Olga is a member of a COST Action research network “New Materialism: Networking the European Scholarship on ‘How Matter Comes to Matter’” and co-chairs a working group on “New Materialisms: Tackling Economical and Identity-Political Crises and Organizational Experiments,” which links scholars invested in an attempt to revitalize socially critical concepts through new materialist tools and methods.
