On 27-29 May 2021, The virtual research-creation and art symposium "Environmental Racism is Garbage!" is held. The organizers now invite contributions from artists, curators, theorists and activists, to submit their work.
Environmental Racism is Garbage! is a virtual (web-based) research-creation and art symposium that will be synchronous and asynchronous and feature artwork displayed in the browser as well as keynote speakers, discussion panels and other additions.
This symposium, organized by Canada’s Waste Flow research group at Queen’s University and supported by The Seed Box, explores knowledge production and acts of resistance at the intersection of art, politics, and the relationship between racialized injustice and ecological crisis. We invite contributions from artists, curators, theorists and activists, to share work that engage with the interconnections between environmental health, socio-economic conditions, racialized discrimination, social justice. Submission deadline is 30 November 2020 and the symposium will be held 27-29 May 2021.
We invite you to share this call with colleagues who might be interested, and direct any questions to help@environmentalracismisgarbage.art
