Advances in fishing technology enable the additional exploitation of marine resources. “New” species are found and rendered overexploited before the scientists can formulate knowledge and feed policy. “Fish the Deep” examines the latest candidate for fish stardom—and death: the toothfish. I will triangulate material from chefs, scientists, and the fishing companies in order to present a 360-degree view of the toothfish.
