Ned Schaumberg
Dr. Ned Schaumberg is Seedbox Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Texas at Arlington. His academic interests fall under the broad label of the “Environmental Humanities,” meaning the ways human relationships with our environments are shaped by—and reflected in—cultural values and artifacts. Specifically, Ned Schaumberg is interested in how looking at water in literature sheds light on aspects of water and its flow that are otherwise hard to perceive directly. By looking at representations of water across literatures from diverse cultures, he examines how individual and cultural relationships with water account for the way it flows around the globe over billions of years.
