Dr. Isaac Lyne holds a PhD from the Institute of Culture and Society at Western Sydney University in Australia, where he is now a SeedBox Postdoctoral Fellow. Isaacs disciplinary background includes economic geography, anthropology, development studies and social enterprise. He is currently linking his research interest in community development, social entrepreneurship and Buddhist values in Cambodia, with research into plastic waste, tourism and bottled water by mobilising material culture studies in order to show how objects shape social life in villages along with discourses of progress, enterprise and sustainable development.

Isaac Lyne has previously been a visiting researcher at the Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia where he helped to initiate and coordinate the National Social Enterprise Conference of Cambodia between 2011 and 2014, and he was also previously a research assistant based at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. He serves on the board of a grassroots non-government organisation called Buddhism for Social Development Action which combines social enterprise with projects and programs targeted at youth, women, climate change and livelihoods.
