Listening, not only with the ears, but as sensing, attuning and noticing, invites attention to the interdependencies and situatedness of relations to environments and place. In this digital seminar AM Kanngieser will discuss how listening practices can challenge the violence of Anglo-European ways of knowing and categorising that obfuscate and erase these relations. This discussion is anchored in research on climate change in the Pacific. We will use Ame’s three blog posts on listening as a starting point for the discussion, so please read them before the seminar. The blog posts can be found below and you are very welcome to participate in the discussion!
